The Thunder face traditional NPL powerhouses Brisbane Strikers full of confidence tonight.

Buoyed by a last start 3-2 win over Brisbane City the Thunder men are determined to maintain their winning form.

“It was a great result for us against Brisbane City last week,” Thunder senior men’s team manager Jason Hall said.

“City and Strikers are traditionally among the benchmarks of the competition – both are positioning themselves to be A-League clubs in the future.

“Strikers are languishing near the bottom of the table at the moment and they won’t be happy with that.

“They Strikers have recruited heavily in the off-season and will be a challenge for us.

“We’re expecting them to come out really hard but the team’s prepared and full of confidence.”

Hall said the Thunder will look to build on the excellent team work they displayed in their win over City.

“We dominated the possession in our last game – which is something we haven’t done in the past,” Hall said.

“We combined well as a team and that showed in how well we played. Federico (Brusaca) and Keagan (Sheridan) marshalled the team from the back.

“The team drew from that leadership and played really well right across the park.”

The Thunder face Strikers at Perry Park tonight from 6pm.
