Funds raised for man’s family

- Patrick Billings, The Sunday Mail

A DOTING young father killed in a tragic car crash in rural Queensland has been described as loyal, funny and a gentleman.

Brodie Ramsey, 30, was killed when a ute he was travelling in overturned on a country road at Dirranbandi last week.

Devastated friends and family started a fundraiser for his grieving wife, Sheree, and one-year-old daughter, Milla, describing Mr Ramsey as a “doting father’’ who had been “taken from us too soon’’.

It is understood Mr Ramsey, from Toowoomba, was in the car with two close friends. Both escaped the accident with minor injuries, but despite urgently seeking help, were unable to save their friend.

The exact cause of the accident or his death have yet to be determined.

A family friend said the tragedy had “knocked the wind out of our sails”, saying Mr Ramsey was a wonderful mate to his friends and a fantastic worker.

“He was the strongest bloke on site, loyal, funny and one of the hardest workers you could come across,” one said.

“He has left behind his incredible wife and baby daughter. We are raising money for them as they navigate this stormy sea that is now their future.’’

More than $21,000 has been raised so far on Go Fund Me, eclipsing the target of $1000.
