TODAY’S TELEVISION WEDNESDAY, FEbRUARY 28

-

Madam Secretary WIN, 9.30pm

Political tension, power plays, life-anddeath situations. While these are compelling themes for a series, Madam

Secretary most often hooks its viewers through the touching and believable marriage of the McCords. Her high-flying job as Secretary of State aside, Elizabeth’s (Téa Leoni) top priority is her family and husband Henry (Tim Daly). Playful and believable, the actors’ chemistry probably has something to do with the fact they are partners in real life. Tonight, besides a memorable scene between Henry and Elizabeth, there’s a somewhat dramatic conclusion for Dmitri’s (Chris Petrovski) story arc.

Shaun Micallef’s MAD AS HELL ABC, 8.30pm

It’s anyone’s guess as to who or what is going to hit the headlines each week, but it’s even more of a curiosity as to how Shaun Micallef and his ingenious team will treat it. While we can’t tease you with what headlines the MAD AS HELL team will be parodying and taking apart with ruthless wit tonight, you can rest assured that kookiness will abound and bonkers characters (hilariously impersonated by Roz Hammond, Francis Greenslade and Tosh Greensladek, to name a few) will almost steal the show from its host. Irreverent and bitingly satirical, it’s a news show that admirably polices the news. We can expect the unexpected.

Neighbours ELEVEN, 6.30pm

Never fear, you don’t have a severe case o deja vu – Izzy (Natalie Bassingthwaight , pictured) really is back. And she’s doing what she does best: causing trouble! Who else would be in her sights other than everyone’s favourite couple Susan (Jackie Woodburne) and

Karl (Alan Fletcher)? Tonight, Susan is ropable when she discovers Izzy’s request of Karl. Relations are strained between Paige (Olympia Valance), Jack (Andrew James Morley) and

Mark (Scott McGregor) as they prepare for Gabe’s naming day.
