POLICE will prepare a report for the coroner after the tragic end to a search for a Mount Lofty woman yesterday.

Kerryn Buscombe, 56, was reported missing by family about 6pm on Sunday when she was last seen at a Windemere Terrace home.

Family initially mounted a frantic search of the surrounding area before reporting her missing about 10.30pm on Sunday.

City Patrol Group Acting Inspector Matt Howard said general duties officers started searching the escarpment area in dense bushland on Sunday night, resuming at first light yesterday.

The RACQ Life Flight helicopter was called in for aerial support, and State Emergency Services crews scoured the dense bushland area.

Motorbike police and the service’s all-terrain vehicle was also deployed in the search.

Acting Inspector Howard said the body of Ms Buscombe was found about 10.30am yesterday.

“We definitely held concerns especially in relation to the time the lady went missing,” he said.

“She was a high-risk missing person, hence our thorough search we’ve conducted overnight and first daylight.”

Acting Inspector Howard said Ms Buscombe’s family, who lives around the country including Toowoomba, was distraught on their loss. He thanked the SES and the public who provided information.
