A TOOWOOMBA family has had their life turned upside down, with the youngest daughter facing the fight of her life.

Faith Cooper was a happy, healthy 15-week-old baby until Saturday when she became so unwell she was rushed to Toowoomba Hospital.

From there it was discovered she had group b strep meningitis and sepsis.

She was then taken to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, with her parents Aaron and Christal Cooper, after a number of seizures and instability with her heart rate.

Hospital doctors stabilised Faith but the Cooper family still has a long and anxious wait to see if their baby girl will fully recover.

Faith will be transferred back to Toowoomba Hospital where her parents will remain by her side.

A neighbour and close friend Lana Chambers was shattered by the news and decided to started a MyCause page, raising money for the family while they remain in Brisbane.

“They are such a hard working, self-employed family,” she said.

“They didn’t ask for help - I offered. They are a very humble and beautiful family and I just want to do as much as I can to help them.”

In two days more than $2500 has been raised.

“The support is amazing and I know Aaron and Christal are really appreciative for all the help,” Ms Chamber said.

“It is great to see not only family and friends but the community rallying behind them too.”
