Big win for Toowoomba

-

TWO Toowoomba clubs have taken out prestigious awards at the Keno and Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence.

More than 1000 guests from across the state attended the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday night to see the City Golf Club and Club Glenvale be awarded for their excellence.

The City Golf Club took home the Best Club Diversification Award while also being recognised as the best club in the Darling Downs and southwest Queensland.

Club Glenvale came in second for the best club in the region.

The Best Club Diversification Award is given to the club that successfully establishes and branches out into new products and services beyond those traditionally associated with community club operations. Clubs Queensland chief executive officer Doug Flockhart congratulated the City Golf Club on their awards success.

“This is a great win for the Toowoomba club as they continue to establish and broaden their revenue streams,” he said.

“They won this award last year as well and have showed that diversifying into new products and services can provide an effective path to sustainable growth while enhancing their club offer to their membership base.

“With the right people, business plan and structure in place, City Gold Club has proved that diversification and innovation are important in being competitive and maintaining relevancy so I’m pleased to see them again win the award for best club in the region.”
