Wines available at major retailers and at pannell.com.au

Pinot Grigio, 2017

Sourced from the Adelaide Hills. Pannell is looking for the right interplay between texture and acidity and he’s nailed it here with aromas and flavours of fleshy pears, spicy nettles and fresh lemons from the tree. A serious, dry and clean style finishing crisply. Rating: 8.5/10 RRP: $28 Alc: 13.5%

“Basso”, Garnacha, 2017

Garnacha is the Spanish name for grenache, McLaren Vale’s hero grape. This bright young number was matured in old oak to leave little influence; is bottled unfiltered and made with minimal sulphur dioxide additions. Plenty of “Portello” grapey aromas and delicious primary flavours of juicy red and purple berries. Rating: 8.5/10 RRP: $28 Alc: 13.5%

“The Vale,” Grenache/Shiraz, 2016

70 per cent grenache, 30 per cent shiraz and matured in French oak vats. Enticingly perfumed with silky shiraz plums and white pepper, offset with fresh lavender flower and raspberry grenache. Rating: 9/10 RRP: $40 Alc: 14.5%
