Stunning homes on display
Award-winning homes on tour
AWARD-winning homes will be on display at this year’s Garden City Zonta Club Grand Homes event.
Last year, the popular annual tour was revamped to incorporate award-winning modern homes and renovations as well as more traditional architecture.
The tour also added a selfdrive ticket option along with the bus tour option, raising a record $16,000 last year which was donated to local charities.
Garden City Zonta Club president Helen Fletcher said the club was happy to feature state award-winning homes including a Valdal Projects home which was awarded the 2017 Master Builders of Australian Luxury Alterations/Additions Award ($650,000 to $1 million).
“It has been a source of pride to the club that we have been able to continue to evolve the tour to present a wider range of architectural styles,” Ms
Fletcher said.
The Valdal Projects home involved the transformation of a small run-down two-bedroom cottage into a four bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home that encapsulated the traditional style of East Toowoomba with the twist of a contemporary extension.
A historical late-1800s East Toowoomba home, which still has many original feature of pre-Federation decoration and design, will be another highlight of the tour along with a home in Kara View Ct.
The tour will be held on Sunday, March 25 and the beneficiaries will be the YMCA, Sunrise Way and Refugee Women in Toowoomba.
