FORMER Cronulla forward Jeremy Latimore says star St George Illawarra recruit James Graham is the Dragons’ version of Paul Gallen in the enforcer stakes.

Latimore believes Graham and Cronulla skipper Gallen share a host of similarities, namely their unrelenting work ethic and desire to win.

He believes the barnstorming duo will decide tonight’s local derby between the Dragons and the Sharks.

“Having played with Gal, James has got a similar mindset,” Latimore said.

“They both just rip into their training and you can see why they’ve maintained the level of rugby league for such a long period.

“The local derbies are always decided in the forwards and Graham and Gal will play big parts.”

Latimore has returned to the Dragons this season after a one-year stint at Cronulla.

He said the club has dramatically changed, especially with the addition of Graham’s proven experience at club and international level.

“James is just a maniac, he is a great man to have around the club,” Latimore said.

“You look at his career and how many games he has played in the top grade and at the international level isn’t a fluke.

“At training you can see his attitude and mindset and it is what sets him apart.”

Cronulla hold an advantage over St George Illawarra at Southern Cross Group Stadium having won 11 of the 18 games at the venue.

The Dragons, however, defeated the Sharks at home in round three last season.

The 16-10 victory, inspired by Gareth Widdop, will give the Red V confidence they can beat their local rivals on home turf.
