Celebrate St Patrick’s Day in town

- MEGHAN HARRIS meghan.harris@thechronicle.com.au

ST PATRICK’S Day celebrations are held all over the world in honour of the Irish holiday and it’s no different in Toowoomba.

Staff in city bars will be working overtime when the spirit, and hopefully, the luck of the Irish descends on Toowoomba tomorrow.

There are a few places you can dress in green, enjoy a cold Guinness and celebrate the Irish this weekend.

1. Irish Club Hotel

What better place to celebrate than at the Irish Club Hotel? Kicking off from 10am, and going into the night, the hotel will be buzzing.

There will be a car park party, Irish bands, Guinness promotions and a street parade.

2. Federal Hotel

You can celebrate St Patrick’s Day at the Federal Hotel. There will be live music and Guinness offering from 7pm until 11pm.

3. Norville Hotel

The Norville Hotel is turning the holiday into a big festival with its St Patrick’s Day Festival starting at 8pm.

Held in the beer garden, the Sunset Stereo Band will be playing classic rock and blues.

4. Fitzy’s

Wear your best green outfit at Fitzy’s and the Tapestry Bar. There will be Irish meal specials, giveaways, live music from 3pm until late, flowing Guinness and Magners on tap and people are encouraged to dress up.

There will be the annual Irish games, including the Guinness Apple Bobbing Competition, from 4pm to 6pm. Open from 11am with lunch from noon to 2pm, dinner 6pm to 9pm and an all-day bar menu.

5. The Vault on Ruthven

The Vault will host Irish themed celebrations tomorrow all day and night.
