MOTHER ASKS FOR PRIVACY AFTER DEADLY BLAZE

THE grieving mother and partner of three people killed in a tragic Kingaroy house fire is being supported by family as investigations into the deadly blaze continue.

Sarah Bond has asked for privacy as she comes to grips with the tragedy which claimed the lives of her two young sons and partner.

Brothers Connor Fisher, 2, and Bruce Fisher Jnr, 11 months, died with their father Bruce Fisher, 47. They were found inside the lounge room of their Kingaroy St home after a fire took hold about 1pm on Saturday.

Heroic passers-by managed to pull Ms Bond’s other son, Zach, 4, from the home before emergency services arrived on scene.

Zach suffered minor injuries and was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with his mother as firefighters battled the fierce blaze.

Ms Bond last night remained in hospital while Zach had been released into the care of his family.

In a statement released late yesterday, Ms Bond said she had been walking home from shopping when she saw the fire.

“The family understand the interest caused by (Saturday’s) fire and while they are understandably distraught at this time, they ask for sensitivity and privacy from the media as they grieve,” the statement read.

Senior Sergeant David Tierney said fire investigations were complicated due to the extent of the damage, and would likely take a number of days.

He praised the actions of the three passers-by who pulled Zach from the home, and said they would likely be recognised for their heroism.

“That was extremely brave what they did,” he said. “From what I understand the house was well and truly alight and just to do what they did was heroic.

“I would also like to praise the work of the emergency services at the time as well.”

He appealed for any witnesses to come forward.
