Weather for Easter long weekend

-

THE four-day long weekend is so close we can almost taste it.

The Easter period is unofficially the nation’s camping and outdoor holiday. Families and friends will be heading to camping grounds, parks or planning a barbecue.

Luckily, here in Toowoomba, the weather is looking in our favour.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, there is only a 10% chance of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday with a maximum of 27 degrees each day.

On Monday, there is a 40% chance of rain, but only 2mm is predicted to fall, with a maximum of 26 degrees.

Meteorologist Andrew Bufalino said while the weather outlook was looking good at the moment, there was a lot of uncertainty around the Easter period.

It is due to the possible cyclonic activity in north Queensland and a low controlling the synoptic pattern.

“Either way it’s not looking too bad for Toowoomba, with cloudy warm days and easterly winds,” he said.

“There is only a slight chance of showers along the eastern escarpment.

“While this is what we are predicting at the moment we encourage people to keep an eye on the forecast as it may change.”

The weekend will also come with a timely reminder - daylight saving ends at 2am on Easter Sunday.
