Hundreds gather for couple’s wedding

-

JODI Courtice is not used to wearing a dress in her usual job, so she could be forgiven for feeling a little out of place on her wedding day.

“It was a little overwhelming to be the centre of attention – it was great to see so many important people,” she joked.

“I work on a farm so wearing a dress is out of the ordinary for me.”

The rural veterinarian married Allister Courtice, a carpenter, at a beautiful ceremony at the Christian Outreach Church on January 13, surrounded by 300 friends and family.

Mrs Courtice, nee Hopper, said cloud cover helped turn a potentially hot summer day into perfect wedding weather.

“It was perfect – it was like it was about to rain,” she said.

“I contacted farmers out at Felton and got some great photos out there.

“The weather was just perfect and I guess overall it was just a great time.”

The couple dated for about a year before getting married, but had been friends for years.

“We met each other as friends about four years before that,” Mrs Courtice said.

“I noticed that we had the same interests and he’s a very funny guy – we are both attracted to that in each other.”

The couple honeymooned by driving through Tasmania for three weeks.
