Share Easter with family

- LOUISE O’MARA louise.omara@thechronicle.com.au

TODAY I am heading south to spend the Easter weekend with my family.

However if I was staying in Toowoomba I would have loved to go to the Streets & Lanes Festival today.

The festival is about filling the streets and public spaces in the CBD with music, art, food and more.

What better way to celebrate life this Easter.

Another top event will be the Highfields Pioneer Villages’ Easter Vintage Festival which starts today and finishes on Monday

The annual event turns 21 and is all about featuring traditional skills from a bygone era.

Check out the full massive program online.

My last favourite Easter event on this weekend is the Toowoomba Easter Gold Cup.

All the action will be at the TTA courts in James St and the Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre until Monday. Spectator entry is free.

So, enjoy the wonderful weekend.

For those travelling – please take care on the roads. I know it is said every holiday period, but we are still not getting it.

Stick to the Fatal Five – don’t speed, drive drunk or while on drugs; wear a seatbelt, don’t drive while fatigued and watch out for distraction and inattention.

Keep the mobile phone in the back seat, make sure you make your stops and remember there is never a reason to rush.

Take it easy so we all get home safely. Because Easter is about new beginnings and sharing our love for one another.
