New doc in city for women
Dr David Chettle opens Evolve Women’s Health
TOOWOOMBA has welcomed a new obstetrician and gynaecologist, who wanted to find a better work-life balance in the Garden City.
Dr David Chettle opened Evolve Women’s Health at St Vincent’s Private Hospital earlier this year and began seeing patients last month.
Dr Chettle moved to Toowoomba from Brisbane with his wife and three children.
He said the reason for the move was to provide a better lifestyle for his family with an improved work-life balance.
“Toowoomba is such a beautiful city, you have everything you could possibly need here, without being amidst the traffic and noise of Brisbane,” Dr Chettle said.
“We are really enjoying all the beautiful parks and open spaces and the luxury of being only five to 10 minutes away from most things.”
With extended family in Brisbane, Dr Chettle said Toowoomba was a logical choice for his family, being just an hour and a half from Brisbane, but also with the facilities and opportunities he was looking for.
‘‘ OUR HOPE IN OPENING OUR PRACTICE IS TO OFFER EXCELLENT CARE IN A WARM AND WELCOMING ENVIRONMENT.

“St Vincent’s have recently updated their facilities, so I’m excited to have the opportunity to operate in some of the new technologically advanced theatres,” he said.
“My goal in opening Evolve Women’s Health is to provide exceptional care to the women of Toowoomba and the greater Darling Downs region.
“My wife and I have personally experienced the roller coaster of having a baby and we understand how difficult it can be.
“Our hope in opening our practice is to offer excellent care in a warm and welcoming environment.”
Dr Chettle said his practice would be a bit different from the usual. Its waiting room would have a separate play area for children, with a dedicated children’s television, as well as drinks for patients and snacks and poppers for children.
“Our hope is that our patients and mums-to-be feel considered and comfortable and are able to relax a little while visiting us,” he said.
Dr Chettle said he and his family had found local residents to be extremely helpful and welcoming.
“I’m looking forward to becoming part of the Toowoomba and Darling Downs medical community,” he said.
