New aged-care facility
Building to open by December
CONSTRUCTION is under way of one of Toowoomba’s newest residential aged-care facilities.
Infinite Care’s flagship Toowoomba facility is set to be up and running by the end of the year in Stuart St at Mt Lofty, the first in Queensland.
The group said the home would bring a never-beforeseen level of premium agedcare choice to residents and create more than 200 jobs for the region.
With a head office on the Gold Coast, Infinite Care operates a number of facilities in South Australia and has a pipeline of new aged-care facilities planned for the country over the coming years.
Infinite Care Toowoomba will provide a home to 134 aged or high needs residents. It will provide residents with luxury single rooms with ensuite bathrooms.
Infinite’s joint managing director Chris Stride said the project was a significant milestone for the Infinite group as Toowoomba would be the first of its new generation facilities being developed across Australia.
“We’re excited that our flagship home will be part of the Toowoomba community from late 2018,” Mr Stride said.
The group said it would be unlike any aged-care facility the city had seen before and would set a new benchmark for resident care, lifestyle and community centred involvement.
The facility will also include a specialised 32-bed memory support unit, about 20 separate dining and lounge areas, regeneration zones, wellness centre, hairdresser, beauty salon, gym, theatre room, cafe, children’s playground and function rooms.
It is perched high on Stuart St and residents will be able to have sweeping views of the city. It is near sporting grounds, a shopping centre and public transport.
