Cleaning up with top invention

-

ENTREPENEUR Brad Dowd has introduced a new environmentally friendly cleaning system to North Queensland. The machine, designed to steam-clean without the use of harmful chemicals, produces ecological advantages not previously available.

Called the Aussie Hydro-Hush, it provides a unique clean and capture system.

Brad recognised the need for councils and businesses to clean flat surfaces without breaking EPA rules or harming the environment.

“The clean and capture system built into our new Aussie Hydro-Hush steam cleaner is unique. It carries it’s own water, captures the wastewater, recycles it and then uses it again,” he said.

Built by Australian Pump Industries in Sydney, as part of their Aussie Hydrotek range, the steam cleaner develops a mighty 4000 psi pressure with a flow of 20 lpm.

That pressure and flow is combined with steam up to 130 degrees to promptly remove graffiti, eliminate chewing gum, oil stains and food spills.

The technique of being able to provide ‘clean and capture’ is handled by the machine’s ability to use flat surface cleaners, with vacuum ports, to suck up the contaminated water, feed it back to the ‘mother ship’ and filter it for re-use.

A number of stages of filtration take the water from its contaminated state and turn it into water that can be re-used without damaging the pump.

“The system is being used widely around Australia but this is a first for Cairns,” said Brad Dowd.

“It will change the way councils, fast-food services, supermarkets and other operators of public spaces think about keeping Cairns looking sharp,” he said.

Brad’s machine incorporates the latest development in high-pressure steam cleaning equipment. That is the Hydro-Hush configuration, which operates at 75Dba. The low noise levels are achieved by the fitting of a revolutionary sound-dampening material on stainless steel panels that fully enclose the machine. The engine’s water-cooled Kubota diesel can comfortably operate even with those fully encoded panels.

“The best news for my customers is that they know the clean-up job we do will be professional, prompt, efficient and legal,” Brad said.

“The unit is in accordance with the latest environmental rules so far as contamination of stormwater and sewer lines is concerned. In addition, being able to operate even at night, without disturbing the tranquillity of the atmosphere,” he said.

The advantage of operating the machine at night is that there is less congestion and minimal disturbance for pedestrians and traffic.
