A NEW bar and restaurant will open its doors in the CBD to coincide with the 10 year anniversary of a Toowoomba hotel.

Toowoomba Central Plaza Apartment Hotel has been operating in the Garden City for 10 years and, to celebrate, it’s opening Centro Bar and Restaurant.

It will open at the venue below the hotel at 532 Ruthven St.

In the past decade the site has been home to Tom Collins, Veraison, the Olive Branch and Campari Bar, originally called Swish Wine Bar.

But the owners of the hotel purchased back the venue recently and are using it in a way that hasn’t been done before.

It will operate as a bar, serve coffee and light meals and also operate as a kitchen for room service for the hotel.

It will be the perfect addition for the hotel, with the tens of thousands of guests each year benefiting from having delicious and efficient room service.

The Central Apartment Group Restaurant brand can be found at other hotels around Australia.

They specialise in casual family dining and offer continental breakfast for $12.

Popular dishes include chicken parmigiana, steak, pasta, pizza and seafood basket.

With $40 million worth of developments happening on either side of Centro Bar and Restaurant, it’s the ideal time to bring something new to that part of the CBD.

There will be a private opening celebration tomorrow night with the venue opening for breakfast on Wednesday and later this month for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
