Dogs to put best paw forward in event
WHAT do you get when you combine dogs, catching, long jump, diving and water? A very special canine aquatics competition.
This year, as part of the Heritage Bank Toowoomba Royal Show, dock dogs will be performing daily at the Petstock Arena.
Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland CEO Damon Phillips pulled together all the required features of this spectacular event and knows it will be a hit with both water loving pooches and dog-lovers alike.
“With events including big air, extreme vertical and speed retrieve the audience will watch on as these competitive canines give the competition their best,” he said.
“This is a great opportunity for amateur dog trainers to bring their furry best friend along and have a go.”
With so many dogs in one place, Mr Phillips said pet owners were required to have their dog kept on a leash when not competing.
They also cannot enter the pavilion but otherwise they are to be warmly welcomed on the grounds on April 12.
“There will be doggy hydration stations, a number of pet friendly areas and exit passes available for dog owners to drop their pet home before coming back to the grounds and enjoying the rest of the show,” Mr Phillips said.
