Pink’s the word for Mother’s Day markets

-

BACK for its third year, the Pink Fig Mother’s Day Markets has become a favourite fixture on the Toowoomba market calendar.

Held at Darling Downs Christian School on Sunday, April 29, the markets will again feature a diverse range of hand-crafted and bespoke items direct from more than 50 local designers and stall holders.

“We’ve got bespoke jewellery and leather creations, art, gourmet food and some really cool eco-stores coming this year,” Pink Fig Mother’s Day Market coordinator Elissa Dowling said.

“Our markets are about finding something beautiful and unique to spoil mum, an aunty, special friend or even just yourself this Mother’s Day.”

A large white marquee will house most of the stalls, with live music and local food vans providing the perfect picnic spot under a massive fig tree that has become a centrepiece for the markets.

“We love creating a great day out for the whole family – there’s something for you, something for the kids, and great food and music for a chilled afternoon on the lawn,” Mrs Dowling said.

Kids can pot a plant, paint a plaster sculpture, or enjoy the animal nursery, pony rides and a jumping castle.

Run by the school’s P&F Association, the markets will run from noon to 5pm on Sunday, April 29 at Darling Downs Christian School, 451 McDougall St, Glenvale. Visit the Pink Fig Mother’s Day Markets Facebook page or phone 4659 1111.
