Feats show how vital LifeFlight is

- WILL HUNTER William.Hunter@thechronicle.com.au

THERE seems to be no shortage of extreme challenges people are willing to take on for LifeFlight.

It’s no surprise Karrin O’Loughin has to support chosen this vital organisation when she tackles the world’s toughest and longest horse race in the world.

Across the Darling Downs and the whole of Queensland, LifeFlight helicopters are saving lives daily through their rescue missions.

Just take the story of Marion and Amanda on page two if you want to read that first-hand.

Karrin’s horse ride is not the only daring feat in the past year Queensland residents have taken on.

One massive effort some would not be aware of was Dave Holleran’s.

Holleran, a self-professed fitness fanatic, hails from the North Burnett and decided he wanted to use his unique interest to help out LifeFlight.

He set out to break a world record in finishing the longest solo obstacle course at the Eidsvold Showgrounds earlier this month.

Over 10 days he overcame more than 1000 obstacles across 500km, and raised $10,000 for the charity organisation.

His achievement, much like Karrin’s upcoming challenge, shows the lengths people across Queensland will go to, to ensure LifeFlight’s helicopters remain in the sky.
