First look at the refurbishe­d Burke and Wills Hotel

PROOF that beauty does improve with age, the prestigiou­s Burke and Wills Hotel re-opens this weekend after an 11 months, $15 million refurbishm­ent.

Built 62 years ago in 1956, the hotel officially re-opens its doors on Sunday, May 13.

The family-owned Hakfoort Group has enhanced the hotel’s timeless elegance using contempora­ry themes and an old-world charm design, with the addition of state of the art modern facilities.

The luxury hotel entrance’s gold revolving doors open up to a five metre high grand lobby with two new large reception desks which are open 24 hours a day.

Food is plentiful at Burke and Wills with a buffet breakfast being served in the Conservato­ry and Glasshouse daily.

Open to the public, this charming room has a true sense of heritage, with exquisite décor and French doors opening out to the spectacula­r Glasshouse.

For lunch and dinner visit Zack’s, a modern and stylish restaurant and bar serving quality meals in a friendly and relaxing environmen­t.

In addition to the public spaces, the Hakfoort Group has also created a completely new look for the guest rooms and suites.

Featuring 82 elegant guest rooms ranging from corporate and superior rooms to deluxe queen and the impressive luxury king spa suites, each of which promise guests’ the highest quality accommodat­ion available in Toowoomba.
