Titans coach wants only the devoted

GOLD Coast Titans prop Jarrod Wallace may be headed for the exit after coach Garth Brennan declared he is ready to farewell any players who don’t want to be at club.

Wallace toured Newcastle’s set up on Thursday as his contract stalemate with the Titans continued ahead of tonight’s clash against Melbourne at Suncorp Stadium.

The State of Origin star has received a mega four-year offer from the Titans worth more than $2.5 million to remain at the club until 2022.

Wallace, however, is yet to take up the deal, opting to explore his options before committing to the Gold Coast.

First-year NRL coach Brennan said he was open to releasing players who did not fit into the culture he is trying to build.

“I’m not sure (if Wallace will stay),” he said.

“It’s up to him and his management. It’s out of our hands. We’ve made a good offer.

“If someone doesn’t want to be here, I don’t care who it is, from player one to 20 in our roster, then they can leave.

“Jarrod’s my priority but if he wasn’t to stay there are options out there we can move towards.

“It’s about bringing the right people to the club for the right reasons.”

Wallace, 26, approached the Broncos about returning to Brisbane next season but was knocked back.
