RUGBY LEAGUE: The Brothers/All Whites Old Boys are getting back together, and they’ve enlisted a pair of former first-graders to lead the charge.

Former South Sydney Rabbitoh Trent Young and South Queensland Crusher Don Saunders will run out onto Glenholme Park on Saturday night.

Brothers’ Jamie Wann said there was a possibility it wouldn’t be Young’s only game for the evening.

“Trent lives in Brisbane these days. He’s passionate about the club and passionate about what happens out here.

“He’s put his hand up to play in the A-grade so we’ll see if that eventuates.

“It’s an indication of the sort of people we’ve got involved in the club.”

Wann is one of the players who will be on double duty on Saturday, and said he was looking forward to running out alongside old mates.

“I’ll be playing with some guys I haven’t played with or against for a very long time,” he said,

“It will be a bit of a spin out, it will be very fun, entertaining and a bit of a thrill.”

The Old Boys concept has picked up in recent years, and Wann said he was looking forward to the game being played in a competitive, yet enjoyable spirit.

“It was a good way to get some of the older players back to the club,” he said.

“A lot of the older players still have the skills, probably not the fitness or the agility, but we thought it would be a good way to get everyone back together, have a bit of fun and catch up on old times.”
