All you need is love: Bishop steals show

-

‘‘ WE MUST DISCOVER LOVE, THE REDEMPTIVE POWER OF LOVE. AND WHEN WE DO THAT, WE WILL MAKE OF THIS OLD WORLD A NEW WORLD.

BISHOP MICHAEL CURRY

“WE GOTTA get y’all married,” said the greatest wedding vicar ever.

Forget Rowan Atkinson in Four Weddings And A Funeral, Michael Curry turned The Church of England into Hillsong when he let loose on the Royal family tonight.

Onlookers suspected Whoopi Goldberg was about to burst into the chapel at any moment.

“Brother and sister, god love you, god bless you,” he boomed, saying, “I didn’t walk across the Atlantic Ocean to get here.”

But by the look on the faces of the Royal family, they probably wished he had done so they didn’t have to sit through such enthusiastic preaching. The Archbishop of Canterbury he certainly was not.

Prince William went red in the face trying to suppress his laughter.

Even Prince Harry and Meghan stifled their laughter. And the Queen and Prince Philip looked unimpressed, the Queen staring at the ground with an unamused expression. Not that any of that concerned Michael Bruce Curry, the Bishop and Primate of the Episcopal Church of America.

With almost two billion viewers worldwide, this was his big moment to spread the power of love — and no-one was going to stop him.
