TODAY’S TELEVISION TUESDAY, MAY 22

-

Neighbours ELEVEN, 6.30pm

The folk of Ramsay Street can be a tough crowd. After all, when you live in such a cosy and insular cul de sac, newcomers are often met with a wary eye. In fact, it would seems that the catchy theme song lyrics, “Neighbours, should be there for one another”, aren’t always put into practice when it comes to reality. Tonight, when Elly’s (Jodi Anasta) sister Bea (Bonnie Anderson) brings her boyfriend to the street, he doesn’t get a warm hug and a big smile from the inhabitants. Meanwhile, Xanthe (Lilly Van der Meer) searches for clarity about her future, thinking twice about her ambition to study medicine.

Stargazing Live ABC, 8pm

We may be staring at the TV, but tonight

Stargazing Live is imploring us to look up. Not just at the ceiling, but at the galaxy in the sky. Physicist Brian Cox and host Julia Zemiro are taking us on an astronomical journey tonight (and the next two evenings, as well). Live from Siding Spring Observatory, in NSW, Zemiro and Cox will be joined by a team of scientists and space enthusiasts to celebrate the night sky, with a focus on the aspects best experienced from our soil. Zemiro will take viewers on a tour of NASA facilities, while at the observatory, everyone will be listening out for signs of life from a new Earth-like planet.

Shark Tank WIN, 8.45pm

The business ideas pitched on Shark Tank range from the inspired to the ludicrous. So, although you may not always be guaranteed to witness an uplifting success story, you will be entertained by the optimistic and unusual ideas. Hosted by Sarah Harris (pictured), the show features top Aussie business stars including internet maverick Steve Baxter, Boost Juice founder Janine Allis, businessman Andrew Banks, RedBalloon founder Naomi Simson and pet care guru Dr Glen Richards. Sometimes, it’s the person’s drive, other times it’s simply their innovative concept, so who or what will the Sharks take a shine to tonight?
