Livestock area action
ONE of the feature attractions of Queensland’s biggest rural sales marketing promotion, CRT FarmFest, is the FarmFest livestock area competitions and official parade.
Pam Murphy is the 2018 livestock co-ordinator.
Ms Murphy has many years experience in livestock, breed society and agricultural show management, not only at the ground level, but also in executive and management positions in those areas.
Having been born and bred on the Darling Downs, Ms Murphy has a keen interest not only in livestock, but in exhibitors, their safety, and ensuring competitions remain relevant and an enjoyable experience for all.
Ms Murphy takes over the reins from Len Barnes and Jill Matthews, who have tirelessly supported the FarmFest livestock area for many years, both individually and as part of the Kingsthorpe Livestock Committee.
Their support is gratefully appreciated and the already solid foundations of the livestock area will continue to be built upon.
The FarmFest livestock area action this year will incorporate five main activities:
LED STEER AND HEIFER COMPETITIONS
Judging in five open led steer and heifer classes commences on Tuesday, June 5, from 9am. It also features three school led steer and heifer classes and champion school or college is awarded on the results of these.
