The Tigers found themselves facing a major hurdle coming into the final quarter as they trailed by 20, but a 25-2 run proved too much for the Swans.

South Toowoomba has shrugged off an inaccurate performance in front of goal to record a 9.16 (70) to 5.7 (37) win over the Goondiwindi Hawks at Heritage Oval.

The Bombers had the best of the early opportunities but could only convert four of their 13 scoring shots into majors to hold an 18-point lead at the main break.

Four goals in the third quarter all but put the game away as South Toowoomba strolled to their fifth win of the season, maintaining their spot at the top of the Allied Pickford’s Cup ladder.

Warwick bounced back from a pair of tough defeats to pick up a 9.14 (68) to 7.5 (47) victory at Rockville Oval against Coolaroo.

Kurt Millard came to Toowoomba not expecting to play, yet proved to be the hero, booting home five majors as the Redbacks picked up their first win over division one opposition for the year.

USQ showed they are still one of the teams to beat, thumping Highfields 22.11 (143) to 4.5 (29) at home.

Harry Potter weaved his magic en-route to a game-high five goals to keep USQ’s perfect record intact.

South Burnett picked up four points with the forfeit of Chinchilla.

In the Westpac Cup, Jemma Whitney’s four goals inspired a convincing 13.13 (91) to 2.3 (15) win for the Tigers over South Toowoomba.

South Burnett forfeited their fixture against USQ, giving the Cougars their first competition points.
