LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
CRANKY BARNABY
SO, we are hearing that the federal Member for New England has spat the proverbial and taken time out from work. Poor wee lamb. What happens to his constituents whilst he contemplates his navel for two months?
It’s little wonder politicians are rated low by voters. First Barnaby pleads for privacy, then he records an interview for TV - is paid serious money, and wonders why the voting public is less than impressed.
One of the very first things I taught my kids is that actions have consequences. Then I taught them to be honest and take responsibility for their behaviour.
Mr Joyce, your actions are having consequences (you may not like them, but they are of your making) own up to them and take responsibility. Man up and resign. REV’D BEV THOROGOOD, Toowoomba
AMAZON
ONLINE retailer Amazon has announced that from July 1, it will block Australians from using its US website.
The news must come as a shock to many who frequently purchase things from Amazon overseas.
I have a small fortune in books that I have purchased and imported from Amazon, so I suppose the move could be a good thing, because it will mean I will be less tempted to purchase from them, saving me some money.
Australians will have to use the Amazon Australia website, which has a much reduced selection of products than the US site.
Services such the Amazon Alexa virtual assistant will still work of course, only they will be configured to the Amazon Alexa Australia site.
The move by Amazon will encourage shoppers to use eBay and Alibaba more so than they have in the past. Note that online purchases from other US retailers will not be affected and will continue as usual.

WRITTEN LAWS
THE Australian Constitution. Who out in the Australian community or citizenship, is actually aware that it exists?
Obviously, our Federal and State Government parties have little understanding of the content of this very important document. It appears to me, that elected political representatives only study the Constitution, to try to embarrass opposition party pollies, only to fall on their own swords.
Case in point, the situation surrounding the duel citizenship saga. Surely any political party members, would be expected to make sure of how this document is understood.
Within this constitution, clearly, it is written that we, the Australian citizens, are the true Government, whereby we elect representatives. Once we elect them, they are entrusted to apply our will. Definitely not elected to apply party policies as is currently being pushed onto we long suffering Aussies.
Our constitution does not require re-drawing. It should be studied closely and all decisions at Government levels, must only be comprised to fit within the intent of the constitution.
No alteration to this document can be implemented without a referendum we Australian citizens agree to. Too many decisions now being implemented by elected representatives are not constitutional.
We Aussies are being snowed or bluffed. Surely, elected or persons presenting for our representation, would be absolutely required to be very conversant with all aspects of our Australian constitution.
