Hatch takes two-pronged attack for Dalby spoils

-

RACING: Toowoomba trainer Lindsay Hatch is quietly confident with his pair of charges at Bunya Park today.

Hatch will saddle up first starter Daisy’s Apart and last start runner-up Molly’s Rocking in the Dalby Chamber of Commerce QTIS Three-YearsOld Maiden Plate (1000m).

While finishing 7.5 lengths behind Brilee Rose at Ipswich on May 18, Hatch said he was pleased with the run of the filly in her first race outing.

“I was over the moon with her run. The winner was obviously smart, they backed it and had a wrap on him,” Hatch said.

“We had to jump her our four days before the race so she was a bit flat.

“With natural improvement she will be very hard to beat and will be right in it for sure.

“I’d say she will probably take up a spot a bit closer for the simple reason had the edge off going in (to her run at Ipswich).”

As for debutant Daisy’s Apart (Captain Sonador x Depart), Hatch was hopeful of a strong on-pace showing.

“She is a nice filly and her jumpouts have been really good,” he said.

“She will definitely benefit from the occasion. I expect her to jump and take up a spot in the first four, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she won to be truthful.”

Hatch listed the Tony Gollan-trained Jabrook as the hardest to beat on the back of two promising runs this preparation.

The filly has picked up a third and a second from two Ipswich runs this time in.
