Venice on Fire set to rock tour

Popular local three-piece hard rock band Venice on Fire set to tour with one of Sydney’s hottest bands right now, Particles

-

LOCAL three-piece hard rock bank Venice on Fire will tour with one of Sydney’s hottest bands right now, Particles.

Coming out of a small town in south-west Queensland, Roma, Venice on Fire have defied all expectations to lay claim as one of the mainstays in the Toowoomba music scene.

The band features founding members Tom Gillespie, on guitar and vocals, Jarrod Hall, bass vocals, and Darcy Cavanough.

The trio released its debut EP Home in

2016 before and followed it up with nine-track album Tempt A Saint the following year.

The boys wowed the northern crowds as a finalist at Australia’s biggest battle of the bands competition, Passport to Airlie Beach, in November.

The band will tour with Particles, which includes a stop in Toowoomba on June 15. Particles is the duo responsible for rip-roaring tracks like Tennis and Rift.

Venice on Fire front-man Tom Gillespie said the tour was a huge coup for the band.

“Particles are just such a tour-de-force when they get on stage – it’s quite amazing the sounds they can create with two people,” he said.

“2018 looks like it could be a big year for us, and this is just the start.”

Particles was formed in Sydney in 2016, with Dan D’Arcy and Skarlett Saramore.

Drummer Skarlett backs up killer riffs from Daniel with pounding drums.

The band’s sound is reminiscent of, and rooted in, modern experimental modern rock, grunge and hard rock.

See both bands at the Spotted Cow in Toowoomba on June 15, along with Mercury Sun. They will also play at Crowbar Church in Brisbane on June 16 with Age Champion and at Howl and Moan Records in Byron Bay on June 18.
