Controversial documentary screened at Strand
A CONTROVERSIAL and shocking vegan documentary is garnering huge interest around the world, including Toowoomba.
Now, you can watch it here in town.
Dominion is a documentary revealing undercover footage taken in Australian factory farms and slaughterhouses.
Vegans in Toowoomba held a small, but sold-out, screening of the film last month with 65 people in attendance.
Since then interest in the documentary has grown and it will now be screening at the cinema for more people to view.
The Australian documentary shows footage taken through drones, hidden and handheld cameras.
It explores the six primary facets of human and animal interaction - companion animals, wildlife, scientific research, entertainment, clothing and food.
It questions the morality and validity of our dominion over the animal kingdom, and contains the most recent and highest-quality footage from hundreds of investigations across Australia.
The feature-length film will be held at The Strand on Thursday, July 12 at 6.30pm.
Cost is $20.98 and anyone who is interested in the vegan movement is welcome to attend.
Vegans in Toowoomba coorganiser Renata Halpin said she was eager to share the documentary.
“No longer will Australians be able to say we treat our animals humanely. It is simply not the truth,” she said.
