The Voice NINE, 7pm

The aspiring pop stars have sung their hearts out for weeks, earning a chorus of praise and encouragement, with a sprinkling of criticism mixed in for good measure. Judges Delta Goodrem, Joe Jonas, Kelly Rowland and Boy George must now sit back and let this swan song find its final note. It’s grand final time, which means it’s up to viewers to decide who the season seven winner is going to be. Of course, we are promised an emotional and theatrical spectacle, involving some top-notch performances first. Tune in to find out who takes out the top prize and which famous songs will take centre stage in this final sing-off.

Sinkholes: Deadly Drops SBS, 7.30pm

You might be reduced to a couch-dwelling hermit – without a TV – after tuning in for SBS’s “disaster week” coverage. Along with a handful of shows with the word “killer” in their title, there’s this rather educational documentary series exploring the phenomenon of sinkholes. The three-part special – which breaks from convention with the term “deadly” in the title – runs from tonight until Tuesday, so there’s no hanging around a whole week for the next instalment. Sharing stories from the places – and people – which survived a huge hole suddenly appearing in the earth, the doco also asks some pertinent questions.

Mystery Road ABC, 8.30pm Engrossing performances and enigmatic characters feature in this sophisticated, homegrown series. But it’s the beautiful yet eerie landscape that looms the largest in

Mystery Road. Tonight, in “Silence”, Marley’s (Aaron McGrath) safe return heralds both relief and elation to the town and his family. However, with questions hanging over his reappearance and the whereabouts of Reese (Connor

Van Vuuren), Emma (Judy Davis, pictured) rounds him up for an interview. With only two episodes to go, it’s anyone’s guess as to where the story is headed.
