Redbacks have potent sting

-

FOOTBALL: Gatton have been in hot form of late.

The Redbacks have been unbeaten in their past four games and senior player Adam Halstead believes they can continue their run.

“We’ve been on a good run lately,” Halstead said.

“In our last four games we’ve won three and drawn the other.

“Before that we had lost our last three games.

“I think it just shows you can’t take anything for granted in this competition – you can only focus on your next game and that’s exactly what we have been doing.”

The Redbacks will host Warwick tonight, eager to make up for their last performance against the Wolves.

“They beat us last time round,” Halstead said.

“And full credit to them – they were the better team on the day. We weren’t at our best but that’s not to say they didn’t deserve their win.

“As long as we play our style and stick to our formation I think we will be a lot better this time round.”

Club culture has been the key to the second placed Redbacks performances this year according to Halstead.

“I think the thing working in our favour lately is our depth and the club culture,” he said.

“Everyone is willing to pitch in and work hard for the player beside them.

“We’ve got a good mix of players and one someone is out injured the guys on the bench step straight into their new role and work hard.” GAME DAY: TFL Premier Men: Gatton v Warwick at Gatton, 7pm Saturday.
