1. Alice in Wonderland - A Most Curious Adventure

When: Today and tomorrow from 9.30am to 4pm

Where: Cobb and Co Museum, Lindsay St

Follow Alice as she falls down a rabbit hole into a strange world at the new Alice’s Wonderland exhibition, opening at Cobb and Co Museum in Toowoomba on 22 June 2018.

A nationally travelling exhibition presented by Museums Victoria, Alice’s Wonderland is a colourful hands-on exhibition that brings basic science concepts to life for three to eight year olds and their families.

2. The great tractor auction

When: Today from 9.30am

Where: 104 Cronin Road, Highfields It’s a hobby gone haywire, and now Albert Brimblecom­be has a collection of more than 100 tractors.

Mr Brimblecom­be will be auctioning off his entire collection of historic machinery at his home in Highfields.

He started his collection in the early ’80s after picking up an old Fordson at an auction.

Mr Brimblecom­be said some of his tractors took years to restore, including his oldest tractor, a Titan type D from 1911.

3. Ice skating in Toowoomba

When: Today and tomorrow from 9am to 10pm

Where: Civic Precinct (behind City Hall)

Ice skating at the Civic Precinct is for people of all ages and skill levels, with 11 skating sessions a day for 160 people and skates available for hire.

It is open Monday to Wednesday from 9am to 9pm and Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 10pm.

Prices are $1 cheaper online. Online adult tickets $21, children $15 and $65 for a family pass (two adults and two children).

4. Toowoomba Hospice concert with Toowoomba Municipal Band

When: Today 7.30pm, tomorrow 2pm

Where: USQ Arts Theatre, Artsworx building — A Block USQ

This year’s theme is “Our Australia” starring Brendon Walmsley, Toowoomba Choral Society Youth Choir featuring John Penny Singers, Toowoomba Philharmon­ic Society, Dance Central featuring Velocity, The Accidental­s Australia and our very own Toowoomba Municipal Band.

Wine and cheese available at the Saturday night performanc­e from 6.30pm.

5. African choir concert

When: Today 6.30pm (Toowoomba), tomorrow 2pm (Crows Nest)

Where: Fairholme College Assembly Hall, Crows Nest RSL

Women in Harmony Choir is excited to host a visit to Toowoomba and regional centres by UBUNTU, an electrifyi­ng group of young adult singers, musicians and dancers who were former members of the world-renowned African Children’s Choir.

The choir will perform traditiona­l African songs and dances.

6. Eight Second Ride

When: Today from 9pm, doors open 7.30pm

Where: Mills Precinct’s Blank Space Popular country rock band Eight Second Ride will perform a free show at the Mills Precinct’s Blank Space tonight.

Doors will open at 7.30pm with a local solo acoustic artist playing before Eight Second Ride kicks off from 9pm.

7. Cabarlah markets

When: Tomorrow 7.30am to 12.30pm

Where: Cabarlah Sports Ground, New England Highway

Free admission and parking. John Miners will entertain. The coffee café and barbecues will be operating.

8. Miniature steam train and Model T bus rides

When: Tomorrow from 10am to 2pm

Where: Highfields Pioneer Village, 73 Wirraglen Rd, Highfields QLD 4352 Tickets $3 per child, $5 per adult. Come and ride Myrtle May the miniature steam train at the Highfields Pioneer Village.

The train can take up to 20 people at any one time or have a vintage bus ride on Henry the Model T Ford Bus built in 1924 which can take 12 passengers at once.

Billy tea and damper, drinks and ice-blocks available and a sausage sizzle at lunch time.

9. Toowoomba Wedding Expo 2018

When: Tomorrow 9am to 2pm

Where: Highfields Cultural Centre, O’Brien Rd, Highfields

The Expo will provide answers to any and all questions couples have and will ensure their big day is everything they’re dreaming of and more.

About 70 exhibitors with new displays and the latest in wedding trends to stimulate the imaginatio­n will be on hand.

Thousands of dollars in prizes available and the $5 entry fee puts registered couples into the draw to win prizes including three $300 decoration vouchers from Event Illusions.

10. Carbal Medical Service community day

When: Tomorrow 10am to 2pm

Where: Harlaxton School Hall and oval

Carbal Medical Service will host the Strong Minds, Strong Spirit Toowoomba Community Day on Sunday.

The day offers a chance for people to meet the team at Carbal Medical Service and talk about social emotional well-being. There will be kids activities, entertainm­ent and a free barbecue lunch.
