Among the sides in the winner’s circle was Goondiwindi, as they won their third successive game with a big 36.17 (233) to 6.4 (40) over Toowoomba.

The win moves them into fifth spot, just one win behind Coolaroo in fourth.

Coach David O’Toole kicked 13 goals in the win, and said it was important for his side to keep on winning as the race for finals spots heats up.

‘It was a tough start (to the year), and we’ve probably been a bit known for that over the last few years,” O’Toole said.

“We’re getting more confident and progressing with style of play we want to play.

“We have a run of top sides a bit later so every week is important.

“You just have to keep on winning. We’re focused on our style of play and letting results take care of themselves.
