NETBALL: Money can’t buy experience but the Darling Downs Panthers are determined to try and make hard work pay as a State Netball League win continues to elude them this season.

The Panthers were unable to capitalise on a near miss seven days earlier as Brisbane West Lions got the better of them 7036 in their round-six Division Two City fixture at USQ Recreational Centre on Tuesday night.

Downs’ coach Bec Stower said inexperience at the top level against a fast and physical Lions team proved costly for the youthful Panthers.

“The previous week the girls were great against the Wildcats when they went down by only two points, but unfortunately inexperience let us down last night,” Stower said.

“But the girls are fine as far as team spirit goes.

“Their attitude remains positive and they are determined to work hard on areas we need to improve in.

“We’ll go back to training and try to get things together for our next game against Tigers in two week’s time.

“It’s another home game for us and the girls will be looking forward to playing in front of our home crowd again.

“A positive for us this season is definitely the input of young Kiarah Woodbridge.

“She was outstanding again for us last night.”
