TOOWOOMBA’S Yentle Rangiira and her colleagues have been given the opportunity to participate in an interfaith conference in Wellington.

The group will represent the Toowoomba Youth Peace Group at the 12th National Interfaith Forum in New Zealand next month.

The conference will address issues about global citizenship, gender equality and sustainable development.

Ms Rangiira said she felt privileged to be able to represent the group at the conference.

“I’m hoping to learn all that I can at the conference,” Ms Rangiira said.

“The conference will also provide an opportunity to meet and interact with other youth leaders from around the world.”

The other members who will attend include Rahalia Abdul Hadi and Connie Qu.

The Toowoomba Youth Peace Group was formed after the National Peace Conference in March.

Multi-Faith Multicultural Centre assistant co-ordinator Meiling Chow said the conference would give young people an opportunity to have their voices heard.

“I’m proud of the progress the girls have made. You can really see their passion for the work,” Ms Chow said.

“Regardless of what culture they come from or what religion they’re from, they all want to do something for the youth in Toowoomba.”
