A MASSIVE childcare centre north of Toowoomba is the region’s latest facility to go under the hammer in 2018.

The auctioning of Highfields Gardens childcare centre at the end of July will be the fourth kindergarten in the region to head to the market in less than a year.

Described by Burgess Rawson agent Michael Vanstone as “Toowoomba’s premier childcare centre”, the Whiz Kidsowned facility can cater for more than 200 people and covers a corner site of about 6000sq m.

Mr Vanstone said he expected the facility to sell for upwards of $6 million.

“The (owners) are keeping the business, they’re just selling the freehold,” he said.

“This is the best I’ve seen in Toowoomba – there wouldn’t be another centre of this kind in the Toowoomba region right now.

“These guys have got three or four other centres which are again over 200 places.”

Once sold, Whiz Kids will have a 15-year lease on the property, which optional extensions.

The centre has also been selected as a “showcase centre” by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, the government body that rates facilities across the country.

The auction comes just two months after a Good Start centre in North Toowoomba sold under the hammer for $1.6 million.

The Milestones Early Learning Centre in Kearneys Spring passed at auction on May 9 after it sold for $3.92 million in 2016.

Another facility in Centenary Heights sold for nearly $2 million at auction in August.
