Dress in pyjamas to support foundation
Model accepted into Miss Global Australia pageant in September
TOOWOOMBA mother Anita Palmero has always had an interest in modelling and pageants and now she taking that interest into helping a good cause. Single mother Ms Palmero has been accepted into the Miss Global Australia pageant to be judged on the Gold Coast in September. “A requirement of each participant is that they find a charity we care about and raise funds for that charity,” she said. “I’ve found that a little difficult as I’ve never done anything like that before. “I chose the Pyjama Foundation which supports foster children. “I absolutely love children, I work in childcare myself and have a four-year-old son Nicalaus so I thought the Pyjama Foundation was a good fit. “And I just love being a Pyjama Angel.” Ms Palmero works for the Creative Garden Early Learning centre in Centenary Heights. “My manager Linda Smith is very supportive and is helping me a lot and allowing me to place a donation box in the foyer of Creative Garden.
“We’re having a fund-raising day this Friday when the staff and kids will dress up in pyjamas.”
Ms Palmero has done some plus-size modelling including a sting for Cosmo Curve and she has professional photographer in Victoria J Photography on the Gold Coast which has helped her build a port folio.
“Victoria Van Der Meer of Victoria J Photography has donated a family shoot which I’m raffling off,” Ms Palmero said.
“It’s valued at $500 but the winners have to go to the Gold Coast for the shoot.”
