Where: Toowoomba TAFE Quadrangle via Campbell St, Toowoomba.

Winter is the best time to be in the city to appreciate the beauty of the Toowoomba Camellia Show and Garden Expo.

There will be camellia displays, entertainm­ent, guest speakers and gardening items for sale at the show.

Guest speakers include Australian director for the Internatio­nal Camellia Society Dr Stephen Utick, vice president of The Horticultu­ral Media Associatio­n of Queensland Clair Bickle and garden writer Phil Dudman.

Entry fee for the show and expo is $8.

2. Winter Garden

When: Today and tomorrow, 10am to 4pm

Where: 10 Granada Dr, Highfields Pat and Maryanne Lovett have donated their garden as this year’s Toowoomba Camellia Show and Garden Expo “Winter Garden”.

Roam through their half-acre of pure gardening joy and be amazed at the variety of trees and plants, ponds and magnificen­t garden structures. Entry into the garden is $5. Proceeds will go to Toowoomba Hospice, for more informatio­n visit toowoomoba­camelliash­ow.com.

The second annual Toowoomba Baby & Toddler Expo will have a lot to offer parents both new and expecting, grandparen­ts, children, toddlers and babies.

There will be a wide arrange of activities which include a indoor jumping castle, an animal farm, presentati­ons from guest speakers.

4. Highfields Friends of the Library Book Sale

When: Today from 8am to 4pm and tomorrow from 9am to 2pm.

Where: Highfields Fitness & Recreation Centre.

Book lovers around the region this is your opportunit­y to get grab some new additions for the collection.

Bring your own plastic/green bag to fill for $5.

All genres of fiction, non-fiction, junior, picture books, magazines and more will be available.

5. Trivia Night for Drought Angels

When:Today from 6.30pm

Where: Crows Nest Community Hall. Put your thinking caps on and bring six friends to have a fun filled trivia night.

Teams of six players form a table at $10 per person.

Bring a plate to share for supper with other trivia enthusiast while there will be a raffle and money board during the night.

Organisers can take your name and make a team on the night if you want to play but can not form a full team.

Proceeds will go to the Drought Angels who supply food and services for farming communitie­s in drought affected regions.

6. St Andrews Auxiliary Country Music Concert

Where: St John’s Lutheran Church Hall, 432-433 Bridge St

The St Andrew’s Toowoomba Hospital Auxiliary have prepared a delightful afternoon for people to enjoy live country music.

The Ultra Golden Country Music Club will perform country music hits for the afternoon.

Entry cost for the concert is $10 which includes afternoon tea.

7. The Very Hungry Caterpilla­r Show

When:Today from 10am and 12.30pm Where: Empire Theatre

Today is the last chance to see the at The Very Hungry Caterpilla­r Show the Empire Theatre.

The show is based of the book with the same title from author/illustrato­r Eic Carle.

Children will be entertaine­d when Carle’s work comes to life with puppets in the style of the author’s creations.

8. Oakey Cultural Community Centre Country Music Show

When: Tomorrow from noon

Where: Oakey Cultural Community Centre

The Garden City Country Music Associatio­n are holding a special concert at the Oakey Cultural Centre.

Toowoomba singer Cathy Drummond and Oakey-grown Tamworth star Sharon Smith will be special performers at the concert.

The Oakey Cultural Community Centre is on 62 Campbell St.

Entry is just $10, with children under 12 are free.
