Witness this classic on the big screen
COME along to the movies and witness the epic Once Upon a Time in the West on
Friday, July 27 at 6.30pm.
This 1968 Spaghetti Western is a masterpiece in its own right and is often referred to by film buffs as the greatest film ever made.
Written and directed by Sergio Leone, this film was the first of the iconic ‘Once upon a time…’ trilogy.
These were the last films directed by Leone, the father of the Spaghetti Western genre at the peak of his profession.
The film follows a mysterious stranger with a harmonica as he joins forces with a notorious desperado to protect a beautiful widow from a ruthless assassin working for the rail road.
Famously snobbed by Clint Eastwood, the film’s cast includes Henry Fonda, Charles Bronson and Claudia Cardinale, however its full cast and crew list is so extensive that the end credits are a whopping 10 minutes long!
Friday at the Flicks is USQ Artsworx’ annual movie program that screens classic, significant and challenging films.
A five-minute pre-screening talk sets the context and then post-show drinks and nibbles allow for a discussion with a community of film enthusiasts.
The film series offers a friendly group environment where film lovers can talk about the movie. Tickets cost just $15 general admission, $12 for members.
