Comtel donation welcome

-

THE Toowoomba Hospice was pleased to accept a donation from Comtel of an upgraded Unify telephone system to be compatible with the new National Broadband Network internet service.

Comtel has been a long-time supporter of the Toowoomba Hospice and has provided free maintenance and support of its existing Unify telephone system for more than 15 years. With the arrival of the NBN, unbudgeted significant upgrades were required, and Comtel assisted the hospice at zero cost.

Comtel managing director Tomas Guerin said they appreciated the work the Toowoomba Hospice provided to our community.

“It is extraordinarily important and sensitive and whatever we can do to make their job easier is the least we can do,” he said.

The hospice’s administration and fundraising manger Mark Munro said it was extremely important for those who were in the care of the hospice felt free to be able to pick up the phone or email their family and friends when they felt the need.

Mr Munro thanked the wonderful teams at Comtel and Unify for their support.

“This just shows how much our service of providing free, safe, quality care in partnership with the community for those with a terminal illness means to, not only those who have used our service but also to the business community,” he said.
