Secret picnic coming to Toowoomba soon

-

A SECRET picnic where attendees are made to wear all white and don’t know the location of the event until moments before will be held in Toowoomba for the first time in October.

Le Diner en Blanc (the dinner in white), which has been held in Paris for 30 years, will be held for the first time in Toowoomba on Saturday, October 20.

Le Diner en Blanc Toowoomba co-host Annie Glover said the principle behind the event was simple - guests enjoyed a gourmet meal with friends in one of the city’s most beautiful locations.

“We felt Toowoomba was primed for such a dazzling event as increasing interest in world-class events has been blossoming over the years,” Ms Glover said.

To participate in the event, guests must be invited by the host’s network, participating partners or get on the public waiting list.

Guests must wear elegant white clothes only, though originality is encouraged as long as it’s “stylish and tasteful”.

The location will be kept secret until the last minute, with guests to meet at an assigned departure location and escorted to the venue by volunteers.

Guests must also bring their own table, two white chairs and a white tablecloth.

Guests can either bring their own fine food in a picnic basket (with white plates and proper stemware), or pro-order food through the Le Diner en Blanc website.
