RACING: Trainer Steve Tregea is hoping to strike while the iron is hot with Toowoomba stable mates Bergerac and Prioritise when they look to end their extended Sydney visit on a winning note tomorrow.

Bergerac and Prioritise complete their hit-and-run interstate assignments at Rosehill where Bergerac aims for backto-back victories following his Randwick Benchmark 82 success last Saturday.

Bergerac lines up in the Benchmark 80 Handicap (1500m) while Prioritise will be out to atone for a luckless midfield performance at Randwick when he tackles the Benchmark 81 Handicap (1350m).

Both will again be ridden by Brisbane 2kg claimer Michael Murphy.

The pair’s bold Sydney debut last weekend persuaded Tregea to press on to Rosehill after both did well this week in the care of Randwick trainer John Thompson.

“These races were there for them if we elected to stay and everything has gone along well with them this week,” Tregea said after arriving in Sydney on Wednesday.

“The wide draw for Bergerac is the only little hiccup so far.

“I was hoping for him to draw inside where he could get a bit of a smother in the run.

“But we’ll just have to deal now with what we’ve got.

“Bergerac has done really well since last Saturday and Prioritise has done okay as well.

“Both have backed up weekto-week before and like Randwick, the bigger Rosehill track should be to Bergerac’s liking.

“Prioritise is always capable on his day and I think both can race well again.

“We’ll give it another burl and head back home after Saturday.”

Meanwhile at Clifford Park tomorrow, punters look set to again launch into several Ben Currie runners as the premier trainer looks to continue his extraordinary home run with a number of short-price commodities on the seven-race card.

Currie’s strong line-up includes Snitch in the Happily Ever After Brendan and Georgie Colts, Entires and Geldings Class 2 Handicap (1000m) and Isn’t She Elegant in the Sedl Agencies Benchmark 65 Handicap (1625m).

■ AAP reports Toowoomba sprinter Spurcraft has been ruled out of upcoming spring races with trainer Charlotte White advising stewards the gelding has a hairline fracture to his off-side hind splint bone and will be spelled.

■ COUNTRY racing tomorrow includes a five-race Charleville card from 1.35.
