BINDY SCOTT
WITH a phenomenal ability to reach and inspire mothers around the globe, Bindy Scott also has an obligation to the followers of her blog, ModernWifeLife31.
In many ways she’s the average mother and wife who bakes her own biscuits and makes laundry powder, runs a clean home, does the housework daily, and does the best she can for her two children.
The difference, then, is she shares the highs and lows with her followers in a plain-speaking yet compassionate manner that inspires others to be positive and carry on.
Before being a stay-at-home mum and starting the blog from her Meringandan West home, Mrs Scott worked on her first website with branding on sponsored posts, and worked in sales and advertising for a company in Rockhampton prior to 2010.
Using platforms such as Blogspot, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Twitter, Mrs Scott (whose real name is Belinda but she shuns it for Bindy) puts details of her family life online in the belief she can help other mothers.
She acknowledges that what she writes may not suit every reader but she has fortified her sites to become respectful, open and honest domains for women to share and interact.
Several of her posts have gone viral including a K-Mart hack and tips on how to declutter the home and earn extra money.
Not surprising when considering her 1300 YouTube subscribers and 345,000 views, and 3100 followers on Facebook.
In her own words: “My main goal with ModernWifeLife31 is to encourage women to enjoy motherhood more, not necessarily be a 'how-to' or parenting advice blog.”
