MICHAEL McNab is testament that from little things, big things can grow.

The founder and current CEO of McNab Construction got his start with a ute borrowed from the first client in Dalby on a minor project.

Now, 22 years later, McNab has built Dalby’s Bunnings Warehouse as well as a string of major developments across the country.

A swag of industry awards and high-rise developments later, including Blue Sky’s The Duke apartment complex at Kangaroo Point and the newly re-opened Burke and Wills Hotel in Toowoomba, has propelled the company into national prestige.

But homegrown roots and values remain strong with Mr McNab, specifically the focus on safety for the more than 250 workers the company employs.

To that end, McNab in 2015 designed and launched a free smartphone app that streamlines workplace health and safety requirements for job sites, Look Out For Your Mates.

Mr McNab has successfully grown the company into one of the state’s leading privately-owned construction companies which has secured contracts to build major projects around Australia.

Locally, the firm recently won the contract for the complete refurbishment of the new central administration buildings for The Diocese of Toowoomba Catholic Schools.

McNab Construction recently completed the Burke & Wills Hotel redevelopment which included the partial demolition of the historic establishment.

Mr McNab and his company remain committed to bettering not just staff but the wider community, regularly supporting charity events and fundraisers.
