33 KATHRYN MCKEEFRY
KATHRYN McKeefry has made it her mission to ensure the long and proud history of care continues building in every respect at St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba.
Appointed CEO in 2016, Ms McKeefry is an accomplished hospital leader with an established record of rectifying clinical and operational performance, and the addition of theatres and beds, in the health sector at positions she’s held before moving to Toowoomba.
The former CEO of Sydney’s Waratah Private Hospital has managed St Vincent’s $30 million redevelopment which was delivered early and on budget. This was a major boost to the Toowoomba health sector’s ability to provide high-class care and removing the need to travel to Brisbane and beyond.
St Vincent’s is the largest acute private hospital on the Darling Downs, established in 1992.
It has grown to a 176-bed facility with experienced staff and specialists who deliver the highest standard of healthcare, a goal towards which Ms McKeefry has played an integral role in maintaining during her tenure at the top.
A corporate leader with a conscience, Ms McKeefry has taken part in the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, raising more than $8000 for the St Vincent de Paul Society to support Australians in need.
She was appointed to the board of Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise this year to guide the business development group’s strategies in the health sector.
Ms McKeefry is committed to raising the profile of the region’s health industry.
In 2017, she was one of the city’s three hospital chiefs to sign the Health Industry Partnership Memorandum of Understanding in partnership with the Toowoomba Regional Council and Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise.
