SOPRANOS Calista Walters, Clarissa Foulcher and Cassie Midgley will take to the stage tonight as part of a new comedy cabaret show at the Empire Theatre.

The singers make up the art collective known as Too Many Sopranos and will showcase their talents with their new show The Diva Diaries.

The group formed in 2017 when they presented their first production at the University of Southern Queensland.

Miss Foulcher said she was excited to be able to bring the group’s show to the stage.

“There has been a lot of work go into the script and the songs while bringing it all together like a puzzle,” Miss Foulcher said.

The group has been able to take to the stage with the help of Toowoomba arts producer Ruth Atkinson who received funding from the Regional Arts Fund to support local art collectives.

Ms Atkinson said there was a lot of talent in Toowoomba in regards to theatre.

“Toowoomba punches above its weight in terms of artists who are at a professional level who go on to do amazing things,” she said.

“This opportunity helps people to aspire to where they can be and to showcase their talent.”

The group received help from experienced director Lewis Jones.

Mr Jones said he was brought on to bring the show to the next level as a production.
