Southern Stars wins Residential Contractor of the Year award

The business received recognition for their work on the House of the Year

In 2009, Southern Stars Air Conditioning started with one ute and a dream. The business has since grown into an established and well-respected household name.

“We wanted to be a part of Toowoomba’s growth, and we wanted to work with reputable builders who endeavour to excel in their field,” said director Darren Bennett of the motivation behind entering the industry almost a decade ago. Starting out as an air-conditioning business, Southern Stars Air Conditioning has expanded and now also specialise in electrical, solar, and ‘smart home’ products.

Southern Stars Air Conditioning has won the 2018 Master Builders Residential Contractor of the Year award for their work at the Srivastava residence in Kara View Court. “Being awarded the Residential Contractor of the Year in 2016 meant a lot to our business and all our staff. It is an excellent achievement to be awarded the title again, and confirms our team is a professional outfit which continues to maintain our high standards for our clients,” said Darren.

The team pride themselves on their customer service and professionalism. “Southern Stars wouldn’t be the business it is today without customer satisfaction,” said Darren, who believes their workmanship, product quality and reputation is a reflection of their continued growth, and sets them apart in their industry. “Maintaining these key components as the business grows, is a credit to all staff — past and present,” he said.

Darren stresses the importance of doing your homework when engaging a builder or contractor. “Check reviews and ensure the contractor or sub-contractor is fully licenced and insured.”
